A Snowflake On Steel

Dedicated to Sherri Glover
By Randall Constant

A snowflake on steel,
This is what I remember.

Beautiful, unique, and delicate,
The snow falls never knowing
Where it will land,
But it is always confident
That it will reach its destination.

The wind blows,
And the snowflake moves,
But it will always succeed.
This is what I remember.

Steel is softer than Iron,
And is stronger for it.

When the unyielding break,
Steel stays true to its form.

Strength, integrity, and endurance,
This is what I remember.

A snowflake on steel.

(Presented June 26, 2003 at Sherri's funeral service.)
