FRANKLIN - Nearly 50 people walk through the doors of the Williamson County Courthouse to face drunk driving charges each month. Sheriff Ricky Headley ... announced that police in Brentwood, Franklin, Fairview and Nolensville are joining the Tennessee Highway Patrol and the Williamson County Sheriff's Department in a effort to save lives through tougher DUI enforcement over the July 4th holiday weekend. ...

Headley said he realized the county's law enforcement agencies had to join forces to combat drunk driving after seeing the body of a woman who was killed by a suspected drunk driver.

That woman was Sherri Glover, 33, of Nashville, who was driving her motorcycle along a stretch of Highway 100 near Fairview at approximately 10:35 a.m. on June 22 when she was struck head on by a pickup truck, according to the THP. Glover was killed instantly, her body thrown into a ditch.

"I saw the mangled dead body of a woman in the ditch and the driver of the other vehicle handcuffed in the back of a patrol car, unaware that he had even been in a traffic accident,'' Headley said. "That made me realize we have to do something.''

The driver of the pickup truck was Fairview resident Jimmy Nall, 46, according to the THP. Nall has been charged with DUI, aggravated vehicular assault and driving with an open container. His blood-alcohol level has not yet been determined. ...
